"The great expectation of a person’s salvation is their transformation." Part of what that means is that one day Jesus is going to raise us up from the grave and give us new bodies that don’t get sick, don’t wear out and don’t die. But, in the here and now, it means is that there ought to be a positive metamorphosis taking place – first in our hearts and then in our actions – because of our faith.

And the only way to overcome that kind of despair is through grace. When I think it doesn’t matter, grace reminds me that it does matter because I matter. Grace says, "Yes, you are a mess, but you are a beloved mess and somebody cared enough about the fact that you’re in this mess to come rescue you from it. His name is Jesus. Now, climb out of this pit and walk with Him."

You can’t neglect this part if you want to experience the kind of life-change that God has in mind for you. You have to be connected with others who are following Jesus so that you can be challenged and encouraged by them. So meeting together on a regular basis for this purpose – not skipping out – is the habit you want to develop.

Giving and serving are not truly sacrifices. Jesus says that they are going to come back to us at some point (even financially, in the case of giving) which makes them investments.

"Serving God" can be almost anything – including even your job or going to school – if you do it with the idea of honoring Jesus and making it possible for others to experience His grace and truth.
