Worship is something that starts in your heart. Then it occasionally comes out of your mouth in song and other expressions of humility and awe and reverence. But it always comes out of your life in actions of service, sacrifice and surrender.

You can't have the living water of eternal life until you admit your need for it. You won't even consider drinking of it until you admit that your foolishness and sin is deadly.

"My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work." - Jesus
That idea is somewhat counter-intuitive because a lot of Christians equate being "fed" spiritually with "receiving" from God. We believe that we're spiritually fed by great worship times or great Bible study - and there is some truth to that, as other scriptures teach us. But, according to Jesus, feeding our souls requires us to also get out of the receiving mode and into the contributing mode, and to become an instrument in what God is doing in this world. Being "used by God" is necessary for our spiritual health and vitality.
